North Shore Square JCPenney To Close

The JCPenney location at the North Shore Square mall in Slidell is one of three Louisiana locations that will close in the coming months.
In all, JCPenney will close 138 stores nationwide and one supply chain facility as part of a previously announced plan to "advance sustainable growth and long-term profitability".
The other JCPenney locations that will be closed in Louisiana are in Baton Rouge and DeRidder.
While a firm closing date was not announced, the company says the liquidation process will begin in April and many stores will shut their doors in June. Approximately 5,000 positions nationwide will be impacted.
