Wow, this is sudden! LaTavia Roberson, an original member of Destiny's Child, is planning on releasing her debut single soon. The best part? The song will be produced by Beyoncé's cousin, Donovan Knowles.
The 35-year-old has been in the spotlight since she left the girl group almost 20 years ago. She's even appeared on a couple of reality TV shows like R&B Divas: Atlanta and Real Housewives Of Atlanta. So, it's really surprising that she's decided to release her very first single now.
According to Idolator.com, Roberson has already recorded a "dance/pop anthem" with Knowles' assistance. In a previous interview with PEOPLE, the former girl group singer spoke about being fired from Destiny's Child and the damper this incident put on her life. “I never left Destiny’s Child,” she said. “That is something that people say. But who would leave Destiny’s Child? That’s crazy! I was dismissed from the group... It was almost like a bad divorce — you’re no longer with your friends, people that you love so much… and then being by myself at that time, when other aspects starting taking ahold of me. It lead me into a depression.”
The last time Roberson made headlines was back in August 2016. The superstar suffered a miscarriage in July 2016 and decided to speak about the difficult loss a month later.
We're glad to see that she's doing much better and is ready to get back to work!
