Everything can change in an instant, and this is a concept represented in Zedd's new music video for "Stay," which features Alessia Cara. In the song, Alessia even sings, "All you have to do is wait a second/Your hands on mine/The clock is ticking, so stay."
For his new music video, Zedd teamed up with director Tim Mattia, who has directed music videos for artists like Troye Sivan, Halsey, The 1975, Sam Hunt, and more. And in this new visual for "Stay," we see the producer/DJ step into his acting shoes to execute the storyline.
In the "Stay" music video, we see Zedd and Alessia wake up to go about their day, then rewinding to find out how it could be different by literally waiting a second. Zedd is on his way to the elevator with Alessia inside, and eventually he just makes it just before the doors close. Then, after becoming friends, they take a ride in one really cool convertible to spend the day together. But in the end, everything changes in an instant (no spoilers here, you'll have to watch the video to find out what happens!).
Zedd tells iHeartRadio exclusively of having to step into an acting role in this music video:
"It was my first time working with them [Tim Mattia], and it was also my first time really acting. I've had a little role in 'Beautiful Now,' but I really suck at acting. So he promised me he can make me look like a good actor, and I think he did a really good job because I really can't act and it almost looks like I can. So, thanks Tim."

"Stay" is the first single Zedd has dropped in 2017. Since its release at the end of February, the song has been climbing the charts and just broke the top 10 on the US Top 40 Radio chart and No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100.
At the beginning of April, Zedd played his Alessia Cara collaboration during his set at WELCOME!, the fundraising concert he organized to benefit the American Civil Liberties UNION (ACLU) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The star-studded concert also included artists like Bebe Rexha, Camila Cabello, Daya, Halsey, Imagine Dragons, Incubus, Machine Gun Kelly, Macklemore, Miguel, Mija, Skrillex, and Tinashe.
