Cam On Her Signature Curly Hair & Inspiring Others To Embrace Who They Are | Your Hair Talks. Make A Statement.

Wen you look at country singer/songwriter Cam, you will immediately be drawn to her gorgeous head of angelic, blonde, naturally curly hair. And over the years, she's learned to welcome her natural hair, and let it make a statement about who she is. As she explains, "Deciding to embrace who I am has definitely been a journey."

Now, Cam is opening up about being bold and embracing her curls, and how she hopes to inspire others to be themselves in a new interview. 

You might see Cam with her signature curly hair now, but as she explains, she used to straighten it often, and it wasn't until a friend of hers with similar locks showed her how to wear her natural curls. 

"I straightened my hair when I was younger, I started curling it, maybe in high school. I remember a friend of mine who had done her hair curly one day, she showed up, and I was like 'What?! Your hair's curly? How did you do that?' She's like 'Oh, it's no big deal.' And she showed me, like flipped her head over and do this thing with your hand, and it doesn't seem like it should be a big moment in your life, but it really was. I was like, 'Thank God.'"

Today, Cam is proud of her signature hair, and hopes to inspire others to be themselves too. 

"Hopefully by me being unafraid, and being different, and taking it all on the chin, good or bad, hopefully, I think when you see someone do that, when you're watching me do that, I think you say, 'I can do that. If she can do that, I can do that.' Man, if we get a whole bunch of unafraid, curly-haired chicks coming up, running the world, that would be amazing!"
