Conroy and Williamsburg, Iowa tornado PHOTOS VIDEOS

UPDATE:

The National Weather Service says a strong tornado moved through Iowa County Tuesday afternoon.  It touched down around 5:35pm nearly 3 miles northeast of Williamsburg.  

The tornado is officially classified as an EF-1 on the Enhanced Fujita scale.  It packed winds of 105 miles an hour, with a damage path that was 60 yards wide and nearly 5 miles long.

NWS teams say the tornado dissipated around 5:54pm about 2 miles southeast of South Amana.

Damage was mostly to trees and crops along the path.  Two houses had damage to windows and siding. A farm outbuilding lost part of its roof...another was partially destroyed.

There were no reports of injuries.

A tornado was also reported near I-80 at Williamsburg, about six miles south of Conroy, near the Tanger Outlet Shopping Mall (above).  

There were also heavy storms near Dubuque.   Four-to-eight inches of rain fell in the area, causing flash-flooding in the cities of Durango and Holy Cross.   Storms also packed high winds and caused a lot of tree damage.
