Danish prime minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen gave Indonesian president and metal head Joko "Jokowi" Widodo a signed copy of Metallica's Master of Puppets vinyl box set during a diplomatic state visit.
"Prime Minister Rasmussen understands my favorite [music]," Jokowi said according to The Jakarta Post. Jokowi has been open about his love of heavy metal and has talked about his fondness for Napalm Death, Lamb Of God, and Megadeth.
Jokowi attended Metallica's concert in Jakarta in 2013, twenty years after their disastrous first show in Indonesia where riots broke out after people could not get in. "I am happy and satisfied with the concert," he said after the concert. "No one got out of control. We showed them that Jakarta citizens are all dignified. We could rock the night away in an orderly fashion."
