Science reveals the physical trait that make men irresistible to women!

December 19, 2017

If you're a dude who spends every day hitting the tin at the gym, it's your lucky day!

Science has revealed that women apparently do prefer guys with big muscles and strong looking dudes with big shoulders!

Who would've thought?

The study occurred in the Royal Society journal surveying 150 women and got them to rate photos of men's bodies for attractiveness.

You're probably thinking it's not a very accurate study if it's a full photo as obviously their face will have a massive impact on how attractive they are but do not fear they've thought of that!

All their faces were covered so it was based on their body and the result ended up in seventy percent of women finding strength to be the most attractive thing about the guys in the photos.

Most women also admitted that they were most interested in their upper-bodies, especially their wide shoulders.

You'll probably be saying duh everyone already knows that muscley dudes are hot, but Dr Aaron Sell from Griffith University said it would probably come down to the way our ancestors picked their partners- the ones who looked like they're fit were more likely to win fights.

“The effect of height and weight on attractiveness may indicate that women are responding to cues of health or to the benefits that height and lean bodies have in protracted aggression, hunting and other aspects of fighting ability.”

“Evolutionary psychologists have shown that women’s mate choices use many cues of men’s genetic quality and ability to invest resources in the woman and her offspring. Among our ancestors, one variable that predicted both a man’s genetic quality and his ability to invest was the man’s formidability.”

“Therefore, modern women should still have mate choice mechanisms that respond to cues of a man’s fighting ability. One crucial component of a man’s ability to fight was his upper body strength.”

Time to get to the gym and work on those chest presses, guys!
