Some A-list couples are so iconic, we believe that they will never ever split up. Unfortunately, break ups do happen and are often unexpected.
When Brangelina announced they were getting a divorce back in 2016, people were quick to cry that love was dead and relationships were officially cancelled.
2017 didn’t bring us any better news either with some of the most unexpected splits happening this year too.
5. Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs
Robert Pattinson is best known for his relationship with Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart which ended rather messily. It was heavily publicised at the time but Rob soon found love with FKA Twigs. The couple then went on to become the cutest couple the internet had seen in a long time and they were even rumoured to be engaged!
However, after three years together the couple split in a low-key, mutual understanding with a source telling The Sun that their breakup was amicable.
4. Chris Evans and Jenny Slate
The Captain America star and the woman best known for her role in Parks and Recreation as Mona-Lisa Saperstein co-starred together in the film Gifted and trust me, they were one of the cutest couples of the year. Sadly, the pair split up after almost a year of dating.
3. Mel B and Stephen Belafonte
The former Spice Girl filed for divorce from her husband of nearly ten years back in March. What followed was a whole lot of drama as rumours begin to spill out about why the pair split.
2. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom
Ah… Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. Much can be said about this iconic couple but the most memorable part of their time together was definitely that one time they were papped paddle boarding and Orlando left very little to the imagination. The pair called it quits at the end of February after dating since January 2016. Their reps released a statement that said, “Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time.”
Prepare yourself for this next break up. This one tops the 2017 list of celebrity break ups as possibly the worst break up to ever occur in Hollywood (or at least, in my opinion)
1. Chris Pratt and Anna Faris
True love is dead! Or so you believed once you heard that Chris Pratt and Anna Faris had split after eight years together, including 6 years of marriage. Everyone remembers where they were when the news first broke in August of this year. In a joint statement, the couple revealed, “We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed.”

Together they had a son named Jack, but don’t worry, in the statement they made it clear that, “Our son has two parents who love him very much,”
