Tiffany Haddish hit the 2018 Oscars in traditional Eritrean garb in honor of her late father. While chatting with Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet ahead of the 90th annual awards show on Sunday, March 4, the Girl’s Trip actress shared that her father, who passed away this past year, inspired her traditional look.
“My father passed away this past year and he said one day you’re going to end up at the Oscars and you’ll have to honor your people so I’m wearing an authentic Eritrean princess dress,” Tiffany told Ryan on the E! red carpet.
The funny woman previously joined forces with Andy Serkis and Academy President John Bailey to reveal the nominees in 24 categories.
