Drake Plays Fortnite On Twitch and The Internet Loses Its Mind

What a time to be alive. The worlds of Hip-Hop and video games collided when Drake nonchalantly tweeted out that he would be streaming the insanely popular free-to-play shooter Fortnite with Twitch streamer Ninja and the results were absolutely incredible. If you haven't heard of Fortnite (ask your kids or younger siblings), it's a battle-royale style game with over 100 million users a month that pits you against 99 other players on an island with weapons abound - last one standing wins.

More than 600,000 people tuned into to watch Drizzy game on Twitch, a hyper-popular video game streaming platform. If this wasn't surreal enough, Travis Scott and NFL player JuJu Smith-Schuster also hopped on to play Fortnite. While it was a momentous occasion for both hip-hop lovers and gamers, the stream fell shy of breaking the record of most watched, which currently sits at 1.1 million. That record was hit during the grand final of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in the 2018 ELeague tournament.
The Twitch streamer who hosted the event, Ninja aka Tyler Blevins, has gained over 50,000 subscribers on the platform in the last month and his stream with Drake has cemented his place in Twitch history.
During the stream, Drake said that he plays Fortnite to unwind during recording sessions and the PS4 is his console of choice. Twitter blew up when they found out Drake was streaming on Twitch and highlighted some of the best moments.
First off, Drake said "God's Plan" while resurrecting fellow rapper Travis Scott who had been shot down.

Drake running around in a bush was a particularly popular moment.

JuJu Smith-Schuster still can't get over how unreal the entire event was.
In the same week I met and recruited LeBron to the Steelers and played Fortnite with Drake, Ninja, and Travis Scott.

Chrissy Teigen asked her followers if anyone wanted to watch her play the much more relaxed video game, Animal Crossing.
