News that Ozzy Osbourne has given up driving a car will come as a relief to many motorists around the singer's homes in Southern California and in his native England.
Not that Ozzy was a known terror on the roads or anything, but it did take him some 30 years to pass his driving test—which he finally did in 2009.
Still, the idea of the Prince of Darkness zipping around the highways in a Ferrari is surely not something many from Ozzy's respective hometowns like to think about.
According to Ozzy's son Jack Osbourne, the Ozzman decided to give up his car keys recently after a minor accident he was involved with on the freeway.
"He was already driving less and less," Jack told The Mirror. "I think he is of that mindset he’d rather not have the responsibility."
Jack says his father is concerned about predatory lawsuits.
"Think about it," he continued. "Ozzy bumps someone and it is like next thing you know, 'We are going to sue for a billion,' because people are silly."
During the depths of his drug and alcohol abusing years in the '80s, Ozzy famously fell asleep during one driving test.
While the iconic Black Sabbath frontman has never been involved in a serious car wreck, he did nearly die in 2003 while driving an ATV.
Ozzy was reportedly joyriding on the quad when he wiped out on the grounds of his English estate, breaking his collarbone, eight ribs and a neck vertebra in the process.
The singer is about to become a grandfather for the eighth time. He says he's determined to not let "go through another generation of Osbournes without seeing them grow up."
It's the primary reason he's given for his No More Tours 2 farewell tour, which will keep him busy through 2020, as he tours the world to say goodbye to his loyal fans.
