Did Eva Longoria Shade Teri Hatcher?

Eva Longoria recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and it wasn't long before the talk show asked about the possibility of Desperate Housewives reboot happening. Eva shut down the speculation that she'd be returning to Wisteria Lane any time in the near future or, you know, at all. The pregnant actress told Jimmy that even though there's been online speculation, as well as interview questions about a potential reboot, none of the show's creators are working to revive the show. If you want to revisit your favorite housewives, you'll have to binge the original series. Again

Eva even addressed the rumors that all the Desperate Housewives actresses hate each other. Eva was happy to deny those rumors, saying she's still very close with Felicity Huffman and Marcia Cross. Both Marcia and Felicity will be at Eva's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, with Felicity even giving the speech. The late night host then went on to ask if they were "all" still friends to which Eva quickly said "no, but ninety nine percent of us are." OK, I don't know about you, but that sounds like some serious shade to me.

So, if Eva is still BFFs with Marcia and Felicity, that means the cast member they've fallen out with is Teri Hatcher. This probably doesn't come as a surprise to diehard Desperate Housewives fans, though, because there's been some public beef with Teri and the rest of Wisteria Lane gang before.

According to Buzzfeed, rumors have swirled for a long time that were was a feud happening behind the scenes of the hit show. Teri, who played Susan, was at the center of those feud rumors. The most memorable story to hit the news cycle when the show was on the air was that during a cover shoot for Vanity Fair back in 2005, Marcia, who played Bree, "stormed off the set after Teri got first pick of the wardrobe choices and was placed in the center for the shoot." Yikes.

At the time of the shoot, People reported that Teri's "unofficial star-of-the-ensemble-status" was a serious point of contention between her and her co-stars, especially after she took home a Golden Globe and a SAG Award for her role on the show. The fight was, of course, documented in the cover article for Vanity Fair, but show runner Marc Cherry denied that this was par for the course on set. Cherry admitted that there was “a little tension that day,” but that “by and large we have a very professional, lovely atmosphere on our set, and that’s the truth.”

The drama continued throughout the run of the show, culminating in neither Teri or Marcia attending the wrap party when Desperate Housewives came to a close. Huffington Post reported that "Teri excluded herself from the rest of the cast from day one. Doing the last press they will ever do for the show, the ladies stood united and were shocked when Teri simply didn’t show up."

The show, of course, has been off the air for some time now, so, the drama has died down. Fans of the show, though, definitely didn't miss Eva's comment during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! the other night. Whether it was intended as shade or not, it doesn't seem as though the whole gang clicked during their time working together and that's okay. You're not always going to get along with every single on of your co-workers. That's just life, nothing you can do about it.
