Kanye West and Jay-Z's friendship has had a complicated history as the two started off as friends and some would say even brothers. Their friendship began when Kanye produced multiple songs off of Jay-Z's "The Blueprint". After working together for almost the decade being featured on each others project, the two joined forces for their infamous collab album "Watch The Throne" album which released back in 2011. Since the albums release fans have been begging for the two to come together and make a sequel to the project.

However, in recent years, there has been tension between the two all starting back in 2016 shortly after the Kim Kardashian robbery, Kanye took shots at the Brooklyn rapper saying "Don't call me after the robbery and say, 'How you feelin'?' You wanna know how I'm feeling? Come by the house. Bring the kids by the house, like we're brothers. Let's sit down,". This wasn't the only instance in which he publicly called out Hov at another concert, "JAY-Z, call me, bruh! You still ain't call me! JAY-Z, call me! JAY-Z, I know you got killers, please don't send them at my head". Shortly after this moment Kanye cut the concert short and was hospitalized for exhaustion and sleep deprivation a few days later.

Jay-Z did not take lightly to Kanye calling him out addressing Ye on his 2017 "4:44" album On "Kill Jay Z," JAY calls Kanye out "insane," saying, "I know people backstab you, I feel bad too / But this 'f*ck everybody' attitude ain't natural / But you ain't the same, this ain't KumbaYe / But you got hurt because you did cool by 'Ye / You gave him 20 million without blinkin' / He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f*ck was he thinkin'? / 'F*ck wrong with everybody?' is what you sayin' / But if everybody's crazy, you're the one that's insane".

Hov's most recent comments about Kanye come during his sit-down interview with David Letterman, in the interview, he was more optimistic about his relationship with Ye but still was clearly upset about him bringing his family into it. "What really hurt me was, you can't bring my kids and my wife into it. Kanye's my little brother. He's talked about me a hundred times. He made a song called 'Big Brother. We've gotten past bigger issues. But you brought my family into it and now it's a problem with me. Now, it's a real, real problem."

After teasing an Interview with The Breakfast Club's own Charlamagne Tha God, today (May 1st) Kanye released the full interview that clocks in at just under two hours. One of the big things that Kanye speaks about with the radio personality is his relationship with Jay-Z. When asked if he went to far Kanye had to say "It depends on how you look at it, if we're family then we're brothers, it's my family to, if we're just business associates, then it was too far".
