K-Fed's Attorney Plans To Depose Britney Spears In Child Support Battle

It's been three months since Kevin Federline initially requested to increase his $20,000 monthly child support figure from ex-wife Britney Spears, and now the former dancer's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, has had revealed that he plans to depose the pop star for information on her financial status.

In his new interview with Us Weekly, Kaplan admitted that Federline wants "the reasonable needs of the children to be met." While a source close to the singer said she's "extremely concerned" about losing visitation rights to Sean Preston, 12, and Jayden James, 11, Federline's lawyer said that simply isn't the case. "This is only about Kevin’s request for a reasonable payment increase," he added.

As we previously reported, Federline asked a judge to up his $20,000 per month figure in child support in February, so his two children with the star can receive the same treatment with him that they receive with her. In his claims, he stated that he only pulls in $3,000 a month in income as a DJ and that's unfair in relation to Spears' reported $34 million per year income. In March, Federline reportedly "flatly rejected" a financial proposal from Spears. Still, Team Britney fought back on Federline's allegations. "Britney spends no more on the boys than he does," a source told TMZ. "He's barely getting by because he has to support three additional kids and his wife and himself on funds Brit gives him for their two kids. The law is that both parents are to contribute to their children's support. Where is his contribution?"

Amidst her public breakdown, Spears lost physical and legal custody of their sons in 2008, which has allowed "a very liberal visitation in which Britney and Kevin have the boys 50/50," or so a source close to the magazine revealed. "It's at Kevin’s sole discretion how often and when the boys see Britney," the insider continued.
