In a shocking turn of events, Miranda Lambert has called it quits with Evan Felker after six months of dating. The pair's romance allegedly began in early February, though they didn't go public as a couple until late July.
The "Tin Man" songbird confirmed she is in fact "happily single," and no longer courting the Turnpike Troubadours frontman, whose band apparently dropped out of the fall shows of Lambert's "The Bandwagon Tour."
“Love is a hard road sometimes and it’s been a roller-coaster ride for me, but I’m definitely thankful for all the ups and downs because I’ve had some really good songs come out of it,” the 34-year-old told The Tennessean. “You’ve got to take the bad parts and put them on paper and then move on to the happy parts.”
The split comes on the heels reports that Felker had finalized his divorce from estranged wife Staci Nelson on August 17. The crooner arranged to end his marriage in mid-February, after which time Felker became smitten with Lambert while opening for her "Livin’ Like Hippies Tour" weeks prior.
Sources close to Nelson said she was blindsided by her husband's choice to terminate their union.
“Anyone who actually speaks to Staci knows she has wanted out of this marriage for months. Evan is the one who disappeared again and again and changed his phone number,” an insider told Us Weekly. "They both planned to end this quietly. Staci has never wanted to go to court and Evan told Staci he did not want to either.”
Felker and Lambert confirmed their love affair when they were pictured holding hands in New York City, which, coincidentally, was the last time the two were spotted together in the public eye since their breakup.
