Montgomery County: 18 Yr Old Killed In Officer Involved Shooting

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office reports and 18 yr old was shot and killed when deputies responded to call this morning in Christiansburg.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred at 7:40 a.m. Saturday.
Deputies responded to the 900 block of Walton Road for a 911 call for a disturbed individual.
According to their initial investigation, after deputies arrived to the address, an 18-year-old man produced a firearm. He allegedly started walking towards deputies in a "threatening manner" despite deputies commanding him to stop.
The man was shot by deputies, who then immediately called rescue crews and administered first aid.
The man was then brought to the New River Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 9:45 a.m.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
