A popular YouTube star known as "McSkillet" died Thursday after causing a high-speed wrong-way crash that killed himself, a woman, and her 12-year-old daughter in San Diego KUSI reported.

Trevor Heitmann, 18, was reportedly driving his black McLauren 650S in the wrong direction on the northbound I-805 near La Jolla Village Drive around 4:30 p.m. when he struck a 2010 Hyndai SUV carrying the 43-year-old woman and her daughter at more than 100 mph, killing them and himself.

Officials said all three individuals died at the scene of the accident, with a report from the San Diego Medical Examiner confirming that Heitmann had died due to "blunt force trauma."

The California Highway Patrol says they're investigating whether Heitmann intentionally drove on the wrong side of the highway.

The victims were identified as Aileen Pizarro and her daughter Aryana Pizarro by the woman's son, according to the San Diego Union Tribune. Dominic Pizarro said his mother Aileen, was a marriage and family counselor working toward her license, while Aryana was scheduled to start seventh grade on Monday.

San Diego Police said Heitmann was also involved in another incident about 30 minutes before the crash in which he crashed his sports car into a gate at Ashley Falls Elementary School. After crashing through the gate, the YouTube star reportedly picked up a rock and smashed a window at the school.

Heitmann was a popular figure on YouTube, with close to 900,000 subscribers to his channel. He first gained popularity as a premier player in the first-person shooting game Counter Strike: Global Offensive. He later became known as a major trader of "skins" - or digital files that are used to customize a player's appearance within the game.
