The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner alleges Jackson Odell died of an unexpected overdose.

A coroner ruled the actor passed from "acute heroin and cocaine toxicity" and that the nature of his death was "accidental." The Blast broke the report Sunday (August 26).

Odell, 20, was unresponsive when his body was discovered at a sober living facility in the Los Angeles area on June 8 — less than a month shy of his 21st birthday. As reported earlier, per accounts from Variety, no foul play was suspected as a factor of his death.

In light of his passing, Odell's family gave the following statement on Twitter:

"The Odell family has lost our beloved son and brother, Jackson Odell. He will always be a shining light and a brilliant, loving and talented soul. He had so much more to share. Our family will always carry that truth forward. Our wish is that the rest of the world does as well. We are now going to try to make sense of our immeasurable loss privately."

Best known for his familiar roles on shows like The Goldbergs, Modern Family, iCarly and The Fosters, Odell was also credited as a songwriter on the movie soundtrack for 2018's Forever My Girl.
