In the nearly 20 years since Muse put out its first album, Showbiz, the band has been consistently churning out records — nearly one every other year. On Thursday (August 30), the alt-rockers announced their eighth studio album, Simulation Theory, along with a new single, "The Dark Side."

"I have lived with darkness / For all my life, I've been pursued / You'd be afraid / If you could feel my pain / And if you could see the things, I am able to see," vocalist Matt Bellamy wails as he screams down a CGI-track riddled with skeletal monsters in the ominous, operatic song's Tron-inspired visuals.

Though the album announcement is new, it is set to include three previously released songs: "Thought Contagion," "Something Human," and "Dig Down." The band recruited graphic designer Kyle Lambert of Stranger Things fame to create the over-the-top album art.

Simulation Theory comes out November 9 and will be offered in standard (11 tracks), deluxe (16 tracks), and super deluxe (21 tracks) versions. Check out the cover art and track list below.
