Nick Cannon finally gave his side of the story regarding Azealia Banks' Wild 'N Out appearance.

Back in July, the "212" rapper accused the show's cast of slamming her with "colorist jokes" that led her to the point of tears. She even attacked Nick on a personal level, writing on her Instagram Story: "If I were to make fun of nick cannon for having lupus and being weak and sickly ........ If made a joke that said he'd be dead by the end of the year ........ Then Azealia Banks is the bad guy ... Right?"

While MTV released Azealia's full “So Petty” segment earlier this week, which showed Azealia getting offended after being compared to Cardi B, Nick said he asked Azealia if she wanted him to scrap the skit when he realized she was upset by it.

“It’s funny because she actually broke down [on the show]. And I was like, ‘Yo, anything you don’t want to air, let me know and we won’t do it,’” Nick said on Everyday Struggle. “She said it right there, she was like ‘That’s very anti-black.’ I was like, ‘yo that’s not what I’m about, but if you feel that way, I’ll take it out.’”

“But really you understand that comes from self-hurt and self-hatred within, and then she exudes it out,” he continued. “You can hear it in her comments and when she speaks out. She probably has had those problems and insecurities of being a darker complexion woman. And in her community, cause she often talks about dating white men and all that stuff, she’s probably not looked at as beautiful to her other peers.”

"Ultimately what it was she was just embarrassed,” he said, noting that he didn't believe Azealia knew the format of the show. “When she came on, it was fair game. So we played the ‘So Petty’ game. And what happened was she didn’t, whether she was a fan of the show or didn’t know what was going on, she was a deer in the headlights.”

In the words of our Forever First Lady Michelle Obama, “When they go low, we go High”. And I can honestly say I have great respect and admiration for @azealiabanks for coming back out and completing the show like a strong Queen and going High that day. Anyone who can even come on Wildnout and show a different side of themselves and have the courage to go up against some of the funniest, rawest, and most talented individuals in the game, says a lot about ones character. So all the pageantry and pandemonium aside I would like to say Thank you to @azealiabanks and her team for being a part of our hit show and helping provide these great ratings. Hopefully she receives this opportunity to fly on this higher frequency of positivity and as the Great Dr. Frances Cress Welsing teaches in the Color Confrontation Theory, we as a people must learn to empower and love ourselves. So here is some Love @AzealiaBanks ❤️🙏🏾
