Kanye West Announces 'Yeezus' Follow-Up Album 'Yandhi'

Kanye West is ready to bless us with a new era.

On Monday (September 17), the rapper subtly announced the dawn of a different wave with the coming of his latest album Yandhi, the work is speculated to be West's follow-up to Yeezus.

The artist broke the news at a quarter to midnight in a screenshot of an iMessage convo showing the record's cover artwork — which bears the same unmistakable minimalist appeal of his 2013 album — and its date of arrival: September 29.

It's a significant time seeing as the "Black Skinhead" emcee will serve as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live's Season 44 premiere on the same day.

Much like its predecessor, West's latest project is titled after a portmanteau — this time marrying together "Ye" and "Gandhi" as opposed to "Ye" and "Jesus" with Yeezus. If it is truly a full-length, Yandhi would mark the wordsmith's third record this year, following Kids See Ghosts with fellow Chicago wordsmith Kid Cudi and his eighth studio release, Ye.

The news arrives a few weeks after West debuted the Roblox-inspired visual for "I Love It," his newest collaboration with MC Lil Pump, at the inaugural Pornhub Awards at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles on September 6.
