Does Master Inn Need to be Closed Down?

The Tuscaloosa City Council will be voting Tuesday on whether or not to revoke the business license of a local hotel owner accused of promoting prostitution.

The owner of Masters Inn, Snehal B. Panchel, was arrested back in November of 2017 on charges of third-degree promoting prostitution following a sting operation by the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

After a grand jury indicted him back in March on a greater charge of second-degree felony promoting prostitution, he has since been freed from jail on $30,000 bail.

Now, the City Council is considering action to revoke the hotel and motels license.

A public hearing will take place before the vote.

The City Council meets at 6 p.m. in the council chambers on the second floor of City Hall today.
