Gerard Way Gets in the Halloween Spirit With 'Baby You're a Haunted House'

It's been two years since Gerard Way released his Pinkish Don't Try EP, and even longer since he graced us with a solo LP, Hesitant Alien, but the former My Chemical Romance frontman broke the drought on Friday (October 26) with a delightfully festive new song called "Baby You're a Haunted House."

To keep up with the Halloween motif, he released a lyric video starring a band of sharply dressed skeletons playing some sort of creepy skeleton talk show. The track is a simple, bubbly pop song and the performance is reminiscent of The Beatles' earlier years (if the Fab Four were, you know, skeletons).

Listen to "Baby You're a Haunted House" below.

Way wrote a note to his fans about the song and its corresponding album art:

Hey all! I wrote a song called 'Baby You’re a Haunted House' about all our inner ghosts and demons and what it feels like being in love and having to deal with your own internal horror show. I tried not to really overthink it too much as I really wanted to start getting music out into the world again and sharing my art. The haunted house was built by a model maker named Damien Webb and it kind of inspired me to put the song out for Halloween, as it seemed fitting with the holiday. I hope you enjoy the song. It was a lot of fun to make and features my brother Mikey Way on bass, Tom Rasulo on drums, guitar and vocals by me, an additional guitar by Ian Fowles.'

We're hoping this means we'll be getting even more new music from the singer-songwriter sometime in the not-so-distant future.
