Starbucks Debuts Spooky New Witch's Brew Drink For Halloween

Is your black coffee just not spooky enough as you get ready for Halloween? Well, Starbucks here to save the day. They just released their annual Halloween-inspired drink and let's just say...it's spook-tacular. This year's Halloween concoction is a bright purple potion perfect for this time of year. The Witch's Brew Frappuccino looks as supernatural as it tastes and will make you feel like you're ready to cast a bunch of spells.

Starbucks' Witch's Brew consists of a delectable blend of "toad's breath," which tastes suspiciously like an orange crème Frappuccino base (dyed purple, of course, for the witchy aesthetic) and mixed with green "bat warts" (don't worry - they're really chia seeds). The drink is topped with whipped cream, which is sprinkled with green "lizard scale" powder to complete the Witch's Brew.

“We wanted to create a flavor that you might enjoy at a Halloween party,” Jennica Robinson, a member of Starbucks' beverage development team, said in a statement. “It gets a little bit of juicy-ness from the orange flavor.”

The Witch's Brew Frappuccino is the latest in a long line of frightfully fun Halloween drinks produced by Starbucks over the years. Their spellbinding tradition began back in 2014 with the Franken Frappuccino, which was followed up by the Frappula Frappuccino in 2015 and 2016. Last year, of course, was the Zombie Frappuccino.

"Starbucks loves to celebrate Halloween, and each year our Frappuccino brings something different to the season,” Robinson continued. "Witch’s Brew is very fun, vibrant, bubbly, the life of the party.” Just like all the witches you know IRL! Time to grab your broom and head to the nearest Starbucks to try out this perfectly spooky potion.
