Lena Dunham Hasn't Spoken To Lorde Since Jack Antonoff Romance Rumors

Lena Dunham is finally addressing those Jack Antonoff/Lorde relationship rumors that bubbled up shortly after her own relationship with Antonoff came to an end after six years together. Not only did people speculate that Antonoff and Lorde, who frequently collaborate on music together, got together right after his split from Dunham, one woman even went so far as to create a powerpoint presentation arguing Antonoff and Lorde were together before the split. The powerpoint was 100 slides long and went so viral that both Lorde and Antonoff issued statements, denying the cheating allegations and rumors they were in a relationship. At the time, though, Dunham stayed silent.  

When Dunham was asked about the viral powerpoint, as well as the rumors, during a profile for The Cut, she said, "Actually, I completely respect this girl, because she did a very good job and she was very funny," however, the story itself "was so embarrassing."

"It was awful," she continued. "I don’t think anything happened between them. I can never know someone else’s life. I have never spoken to Ella [Lorde] about it. We haven’t talked since Jack and I broke up. It was awful, and I couldn’t do anything about it except trust that what he was saying to me was true."

Dunham and Lorde were famously members of Taylor Swift's "squad" and appeared to have a close relationship before their falling out. While both are still friends with Swift, it seems their own friendship has come to an end.

Dunham also remains close with Antonoff, despite the cheating rumors. She opened up about their split, as well, saying their relationship lasted longer than it should have due to her health problems. "He’s a very loyal person, so he was not going to bail when the going got tough," she said. "He literally held my hand while I got an enema on New Year’s Eve while his family celebrated. But when you’re sick, so much energy goes into making sure the other person is well that you’re not even noticing maybe our schedules aren’t compatible."

"Maybe we want different things out of our lives," she continued. "Maybe we have different attitudes about what family means. Maybe these essential questions that people have to ask themselves all the time are not being asked, because we just want to make sure that I don’t pass out at the grocery store."

While they remain friends, Dunham also admitted that she sometimes struggles when she sees Antonoff's new girlfriend, model Carlotta Kohl, on social media. "I thought I was kind of proving weird girls can have love too," she said. "And now he’s dating somebody who looks regular and normal and like girls are supposed to look."

Dunham is currently dating an artist she met through mutual friends and focusing on her health.
