Last Friday (December 14), Gerard Way hit us with another new single. "Dasher," the song about a girl falling in love with a reindeer, who in turn "thinks she's pretty great too," was a festive track (and video) that got us in the holiday spirit. It's also a beautiful, haunting number, made more powerful by The Regrettes' Lydia Night delivering a chill-inducing spoken word speech about flying high with her magical partner halfway through the song.
On Tuesday (December 18), the former My Chemical Romance frontman took to Instagram to praise Night, and the video's director Aaron Hymes.
"This is a clip from the brilliant Dasher lyric video by director @aaronhymes," Way wrote. "I find this video to be very moving, and I love the direction and the powerful moments that happen in it. Also, some people have been asking about the spoken word part of the song. That was done by Lydia Night from @theregrettesband and it was so wonderful to have her amazing voice in the song. I find her bit to be haunting yet kind and personal." The singer-songwriter also posted the song's lyrics below his heartfelt message.

This is the third single Way has released in the last two months, following "Baby You're A Haunted House" and "Getting Down the Germs;" however, no details have been revealed as to when we can expect a new album.
