Is Ariana Grande Shooting Her Shot At Ex Big Sean On New Track?

Fans seem to think, Ariana Grande wants that old thang back!
After the 25-year-old singer dropped the tracklist for her upcoming Thank U, Next album earlier this week, fans were quick to point out the title of her last song, "break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored." While Ari has yet to address fan speculation regarding the boldly-named track, many are convinced that the song is about her ex-boyfriend Big Sean, who she dated for eight months back in 2015, and here's why:
First, Sean is the only one of her exes (that we know about) who has a girlfriend — he's currently dating Jhené Aiko and has been since 2016. While Ari could, in theory, be talking about any old guy with a girlfriend, Sean is one of her exes that she's previously hinted she'd be willing to give another shot. Which leads me to point number two. As fans know, Ari gave Sean quite the flirty shoutout in her music video for "thank u, next." In the video, Ariana referenced a few of her famous exes by writing cheeky captions about them in a "Burn Book." However, Sean's page was the only one to feature a flirty caption that read, "so cute, so sweet" and in parentheses "could still get it."
While fans will have to wait and see if Ari gives this boy she believes should break up with his girlfriend for her a name on the track, signs seem to point to Big Sean as the said mystery man.

As previously reported, Ari announced on Tuesday (January 22) that her upcoming album drops on February 8 —less than six months after she released her last album Sweetener. She also revealed that the project will feature 12 songs, including the already released "Imagine," Thank U, Next," and "7 Rings." Then on Wednesday (January 23), the "7 Rings" singer dropped the cover art for her upcoming project, calling it her "fav" cover yet. "this is my fav album cover i think," she surprised fans on Twitter with the cover art. "brian painted me. fredo shot me. made with tru, deep friendship and love. just like this music." Ari added: "she still upside-down. but this time she kinda ......... f**ks w it lol."
