Here's How Twenty One Pilots' "Ned" Character Came to Life

Ever since Twenty One Pilots surprise-dropped the video for their latest single "Chlorine" last week, Clique members have built up quite the obsession over Ned — the chunky creature that stars in the clip.
A fan went so far as to find Ned's creators on Facebook and shared some public posts on Reddit. Artist Timothy Bahrij shared some behind the scenes footage of the video shoot and 3D renderings of Ned. "For a sizeable section at the beginning I was the only 3D artist responsible for 3D VFX which was a huuge (and underestimated in parts) undertaking, a few of the shots animation ended up being a fair bit more 'awkward' than I liked but overall and given the circumstances I'm pretty happy with how it turned out," he explained in a lengthy post.
Joe Lancaster, a VFX artist who helped bring Ned to life, couldn't believe the response fans had to the creature, sharing memes and fan art he'd seen posted online since the video's release.
