Earlier this week, Karen O shared a cover of Smashing Pumpkins' 1995 hit "Bullet With Butterfly Wings," and the ominous, rumbling electronic rendition of the gritty classic has won over a lot of fans, including Billy Corgan and company themselves. "Beautiful cover of Bullet With Butterfly Wings by @KarenO" the band tweeted on Thursday (January 31), giving the cover their stamp of approval.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer creates a whole new aesthetic in her version of the track, with the lyrics becoming the only recognizable part of the original song. She sings quietly and slowly over buzzing, pulsating synths and icy drum machines, radiating a sense of impending doom. For fans of the Smashing Pumpkins' in your face, angsty anthem, Karen's version might take some getting used to, but it really is a beautiful, completely re-imagined counterpart to the original.

The song was recorded for the upcoming television series Hanna. The show is set to premiere February 3rd on Amazon Prime. Karen O is also prepping her latest solo release, Lux Prima. The Danger Mouse collaboration is slated for a March 15th release via BMG.
