BTS is headed to the Grammys!
The Bangtan Boys — V, J-Hope, RM, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, and Suga — will be presenting an honor at the annual awards ceremony, Variety confirmed Monday (February 4). Aside from bestowing a trophy, the K-pop stars also celebrate their first-ever Grammy recognition this year as well.
The boy band's third Korean studio album (and sixth record overall) Love Yourself: Tear , which released to No. 1 acclaim on the Billboard Hot 100 in May 2018, is nominated for Best Recording Package (i.e. album artwork), competing alongside Mitski ’s Be the Cowboy , the Chairman’s The Offering , St. Vincent ’s Masseduction , and Foxhole ’s Well Kept Thing . In its arrival, Tear became the first and only LP by a Korean act to top the U.S. albums chart as well as the highest-charting record by an Asian act to dominate the Western market.
The 61st Annual Grammy Awards, hosted by 15-time Grammy-winning artist Alicia Keys , will air on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles this Sunday (February 10).
Among those confirmed to hit the Grammys stage to perform are artists H.E.R. , Post Malone with the Red Hot Chili Peppers , Camila Cabello , Cardi B , Brandi Carlile , Miley Cyrus , Dan + Shay , Shawn Mendes , Kacey Musgraves , and Janelle Monáe .
