All jokes aside, Justin Bieber has given a serious response to those angered by that pregnancy prank he pulled with Hailey Baldwin.
The musician took some heat from fans and prankster-poopers alike on April Fools' Day (April 1) when Biebs jokingly announced that he and his wife were expecting their first child.
The artist made the surprising reveal via Instagram with an ultrasound image of their apparent lovechild. The questionable picture was made all the more convincing when Bieber followed it with another snap of the model resting at the doctor's chair, cradling her belly, along with the capt, "If U thought it was April fools."
We debunked the suspicious sonogram (a pretty popular choice on the internet) ourselves — and it didn't take long before Beliebers caught on to the joke, sparking a wave of backlash that Bieber apologetically addressed today.
"There’s always gonna be people offended, there’s also people who don’t take jokes very well, I am a prankster and it was APRIL FOOLS. I didn’t at all mean to be insensitive to people who can’t have children," the "Cold Water" singer wrote along with a headline "slamming" the stunt. "A lot of people I know, their first go to prank on April fools is telling their parents they are pregnant to get a big reaction. But I will apologize anyway and take responsibility and say sorry to people who were offended."
