On April 20, 2018 the music world was stunned to hear about the tragic passing of one of EDM's most beloved voices. Tim Bergling aka Avicii had died at the young age of 28. At the time, an outpouring of love from the electronic community and beyond showered his family and solidified his legacy. Now, a year later, his vision still lives on in the posthumous single "SOS" and in the memories those close to him share.
The late producer's estate shared a personal quote on Twitter to celebrate his life: “'Spread positivity through my music, in message and enjoy success but not materialistic success' - Tim, 2018 Forever in our hearts, minds and ears." The city of Los Angeles also erected a billboard commemorating the DJ that reads "Tim Bergling 1989-Forever" with his signature "Avicii" type scrawled above.
Collaborators and friends also took the time to remember him today. "The Great Avicii Forever" tweeted DJ Snake. Famed producer Nile Rogers shared a photo from a recording session with Avicii and Adam Lambert. "#RIPAvicii @adamlambert me and @Avicii aka #timbergling at one of our many days in the studio," he wrote alongside the photo. "Tim you will always have a special place in my heart."
