Someone Unearthed Footage From Blink-182's First Show With Travis Barker

The year was 1998. The city was Baltimore, Maryland. The band was blink-182, who had released their sophomore album Dude Ranch a year earlier. Those at the outdoor concert recognized the trio's bassist/singer Mark Hoppus and guitarist/singer Tom DeLonge, but who was that guy behind the kit? Though the trio is most widely known for its lineup of Mark, Tom, and Travis, they actually started their career with another drummer — Scott Raynor — and this summer show was their first with Travis Barker in the lineup.
Someone in attendance so graciously uploaded the performance onto YouTube a couple years ago, and the internet so graciously uncovered it so we could use our Memorial Day watching the glory days of pop punk. During their set, Tom says stuff that absolutely would not be tolerated in 2019, while punk kids skank their way across stage before diving back into the crowd. It truly was a different time 20+ years ago.
Though the band was well-known in 1998, it was the following year that they released their first album with Barker — Enema of the State — and catapulted into rock stardom. Of course, Tom has since left the band, being replaced by Matt Skiba; however, he claims to have spoken to his former bandmates about staging a reunion sometime in the future. For now, take a trip down memory lane by watching the full set below.
