Patricia Krentcil, infamously known as "Tan Mom," is reportedly hospitalized and in critical condition due to her battle with pneumonia, Us Weekly learned over the weekend.

The "It's Tan Mom" star's songwriting partner, Adam Barta, confirmed the news of Krentcil's dire medical situation in a statement to Us Weekly on Sunday (June 9). “Currently, she is still on life support (via the intubator) and in a medically induced sleep until her heart [and] lungs are strong enough to handle functioning on their own,” Barta told the pub. “The fluid is draining from her lungs and she is improving today but she is definitely not out of the woods.”

“They are feeding her very strong antibiotics to kill the infection as well so her system is taking quite a hit. I personally believe last night was the most critical turning point, and she made it so she will only continue to get better," Barta continued. "The current plan is to try to extubate and revive her tomorrow or Tuesday, provided she maintains this trajectory.”

As of yet, the report notes Krentcil's "whole family, including kids from up in New Jersey, have relocated temporarily to be by her bedside in Florida” and are continuing to ask for prayers and well wishes that she pulls through.

Krentcil rose to infamy in 2012 when she was detained for taking her then 5-year-old daughter, Anna, to a New Jersey tanning salon. The mother of five was subsequently released from jail on $25,000 bail after pleading not guilty to second-degree child endangerment over the incident.

Years after, Krentcil revealed to the New York Post in 2017 that, in retrospect, she had "turned into a mess" after the controversy, adding that she felt like "a horrific mom."

In the latest advancement, The Blast reports Krentcil’s condition “is improving” but she remains in the intensive care unit after being admitted last week to have fluid removed from her lungs.

In any case, we're wishing Krentcil a safe and speedy recovery.
