Elton John may be 72 years old, but that doesn't mean he doesn't know new music. During a recent interview with Pigeons & Planes, the pop icon talked about hanging out with Young Thug and listening to artists like Collard, Loyle Carner, Dave, Slowthai, Little Simz, Ray BLK and MoStack and praised Khalid's talents. "He's a great writer, a great singer and he's going to be a great artist who has a long and interesting career," he said before turning gears to another young star: Billie Eilish.
"She is one for the most talented young ladies I’ve ever heard. Her album was amazing. She's come a long way very quickly. She's an incredible word of mouth artist," he gushed. "All the tracks we’ve played have been so different, and that’s what I love about her. There's is no box to put you in. There are no rules. I can’t wait to see her live because she has something very special going on. Talent like hers doesn’t come along very often."
John is currently on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. When he's done playing live shows of his own, he'll have time to attend one of Eilish's spectacular concerts.
Billie Eilish is performing at this year's Daytime Stage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on September 21st alongside a lineup of incredible rising stars.
