Billie Eilish wants answers.
On Thursday (August 29), the "Bad Guy" musician slammed NYLON Germany for sharing an unauthorized photo of the singer appearing topless on the publication's new cover. The photoshopped image in question, which was unveiled on the magazine's Instagram account, depicts the star with no hair and shirtless.
The picture, revealed as part of NYLON Germany's "Digital Prodigies" editions, was allegedly published without Eilish's knowledge or consent — and she made these points known in her direct response to the post.
"What the f--k is this s--t," the "I Love You" artist started. "1. i was never approached by nylon about this piece whatsoever. i did not know it was happening nor did anyone on my team. 2. this is not even a real picture of me. i had absolutely no creative input."
"3. youre gonna make a picture of me shirtless?? thats not real?? at 17? and make it the cover????" she continued, adding, "Even if the picture was supposed to look like some robot version of me… i did not consent in any way. 4. ANNNDDD YOU’RE GONNA REMOVE ALL MY F--KIN HAIR? booooooooooo to you."
The magazine later edited their post with a response to Eilish's remarks, explaining their intention was never to "create a look that is confusing or insulting" but rather to "honor" the "Lovely" songbird's impact and work.
"This avatar is a piece of 3D artwork created in dedication to her achievements and the positive effect she has had on millions around the globe – including us," they concluded.
Despite Eilish's complaints, the post still remains.
