Safaree & Erica Mena Are Expecting Their 1st Child — See Their Announcement

Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels are expanding their family.

After weeks of speculation, the Love & Hip Hop stars confirmed they are indeed expecting their first child. "Wow, wow, it's a big deal! Very big deal. I didn't know I was capable of doing this," Safaree said while rubbing Erica's baby bump in their baby announcement video shared by VH1 on Tuesday (October 1).

"I'm excited! I'm nervous. I'm in shock. I'm in disbelief. It's very surreal to me," he added. "It's like, I don't know what the hell to do but I know I'm going to be great at what I do because I'm great at everything."

Erica then shared that Safaree's been oddly googling "Dogs giving birth to puppies" to prepare himself for their child's delivery. "He hasn't mastered the whole thing that human birth and dog birth are two different things," she said jokingly.

"When my sister gave birth to my first niece, I was in the room… I just woke up and the baby was there," Safaree admitted before Erica clarified that he actually fainted during his niece's birth. "I don't plan on looking [when you give birth]," he told his wife-to-be. "I'll be looking at [you] and being [your] rock and [your] support."

"It will be quite the interesting birth, to say the least," she quipped.

The expecting mom also revealed her thoughts on their little one joining her son King. "He will be a great big brother," Erica said. "He wants to be the boss of somebody. He's the boss of Safaree, now he needs someone that's younger than him. So it will be perfect." Speaking of taking the lead, Erica additionally discussed her plans to "protect" her and Safaree's child from "the craziness" of their reality TV world. However, Safaree said he's more open to the idea of sharing their child with the world. "We're going to be selective but at the same time, this baby will come out of the womb working," he joked. "I was working very early. I'm about to pull a DJ Khaled. As soon as this baby comes out, we are working."

As fans know, the expecting parents are currently engaged. Earlier this week, the Jasmine Brand reported that they are set to tie the knot on October 7th with VH1 cameras rolling.
