Keep the tissues nearby, because after hearing Craig Morgan's "The Father, My Son, and the Holy Ghost," you will need them.
In a recent interview with Cody Alan, Craig revealed that he struggled to release the emotional song that he penned in honor of his late son, Jerry Greer, who died in a drowning accident in July 2016.Had it not been for the encouragement of Opry legend, Ricky Skaggs, the world may not have ever heard this poignant track.
"I had played it on the Opry, and it was only the second time that I had performed it in public," revealed Craig. "I literally was so emotional when I walked off stage that I was having problems," Craig continues as he fights back the tears. "I walked over to [Ricky Skaggs], and he looked at me, and he had big tears in his eyes, and he said, "That may be the greatest song I've ever heard." I said, "I am glad you got to hear it because I may never do it again."
Craig continues to share the emotional conversation that he shared with Ricky on the side-stage of the Grand Ole Opry. Watch the video below to hear what Ricky explained to Craig, which leg him to release the track.
