Rihanna may be on good terms with her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, but many of her fans can't say the same.
The 31-year-old singer turned business mogul broke the Internet for all the wrong reasons on Saturday night (October 19) after she shared a promotional video for her Fenty Beauty line that featured Chris' song "Come Together."
"Gang Gang. just me and my #GlossyPosse !!! @fentybeauty," RiRi captioned the clip that showed a collection of her lip glosses arranged at the edge of a pool. While Chris' song, which also features H.E.R., merely played in the background of the video, the post upset many of Rihanna's die-hard Navy members given her past with Chris.
As fans know, back in 2009, the R&B singer pled guilty to physically abusing his then-girlfriend Rihanna. The incident, which occurred hours before the 2009 Grammys, left a stain on Chris' career, and to this day many artists have refused to work with him because of it, which is why Rihanna's post shocked many of her fans.
If RiRi's video post wasn't shocking enough, Chris' comment seemed to further piss off Rih's fans. Just after she shared the video, he commented a heart on the post and later added: "β€οΈ For life. Keep winning QUEEN ππ½."
Fans reacted on Twitter, writing, "Rihanna forgiving Chris has never changed the fact that heβs still trash. How she chooses to heal has 0 to do with me. Heβll still be a garbage bag." Another added: "anyway the mood is still f**k chris brown heβs an awful human regardless of what rihanna thinks. he doesnβt deserve her or anyoneβs forgiveness and no one should feel like they have to forgive him because thereβs a possibility rihanna has."
However, not all fans were as quick to condemn Chris. "This Chris Brown and Rihanna situation happened like 10 years ago. Why the f**k are people talking about it?" another wrote. "Da*n, move the F**K ON!"

It is Rihannaβs choice to forgive Chris brown as she sees fit. Itβs our choice to not support an abuser. What is confusing here?

Rihanna can feel however she wishes about Chris Brown. That doesnβt mean the rest of us are obligated to forget that he has a pattern of abusing women, that Rihanna is not the only woman to press charges against him, & that he is unrepentant
