We Lost Pops From 'Friday' - RIP John Witherspoon

Actor/Comedian John Witherspoon, best know for his role as Ice Cube's dad in the 'Friday' movies, passed away in his Los Angeles home on Tuesday. He was 77-year-old.

The news came from a statement issued by the Witherspoon family via Twitter:

It is with deep sadness we have to tweet this, but our husband & father John Witherspoon has passed away. He was a Legend in the entertainment industry, and a father figure to all who watched him over the years. We love you “POPS” always & forever. - The Witherspoon Family

The cause of death is yet to be released.
