Ariana Grande is feeling extra thankful this year. The pop star took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday (November 29) to share why her Thanksgiving was so special. For the first time in 18 years, she spent the holiday with both of her parents.

Ariana shared a photo of herself cuddled close to her mom, Joan Grande, and her dad, Edward Butera, on Instagram. “First Thanksgiving with both of my parents in 18 years,” she wrote.

Ari’s fans will be familiar with her family history. Her parents split when she was a kid and, unfortunately, she and her dad were estranged for some time. Ariana opened up about her relationship with her dad back in 2017.

“It's private, but it happened last year. It took me so long to be okay with it,” she told Seventeen. “The thing that got me there was embracing the fact that I am made up of half my dad, and a lot of my traits come from him. So much of me comes from my father, and for so long, I didn't like that about myself. I had to accept that it's okay not to get along with somebody and still love them."

Ari addressed the “drama” with her dad as recently as last year when she referenced Joan and Edward's split in ‘thank u, next’, however, it seems like these three have worked it out.
