Justin Bieber has unveiled the artwork, title and release date of his brand new album.
Last night (January 27), the “Cold Water” artist announced his follow-up to 2015’s Purpose will be called Changes, and will arrive on Valentine’s Day (February 14) via RBMG/Def Jam Recordings.
Bieber broke the news of his fifth studio effort via Instagram as well as the all-red cover art for the LP, which features a shirtless, tattoo-laden Bieber striking a peaceful pose. To accompany the announcement of Changes, Bieber also released a new track from the project featuring Kehlani called “Get Me” to follow the album’s leader “Yummy.”
In addition, the “I Don’t Care” crooner also revealed dates for his “Changes Tour” in North America, which will run from May 14 to September 26, with Kehlani and Jaden Smith as opening acts. As previously reported, Bieber will support his new Changes era with his YouTube docu-series, Seasons, which touches on the vocalist’s long-awaited return to the spotlight. The first episode, aired January 27, is available to watch now.
During last week's album listening party in Los Angeles, Bieber recalled having “grown up in the industry” as well as some of the personal challenges he’s experienced over the years. In an emotional speech, he credited God for seeing him through those hard times. “I don’t even think I should be alive never mind thrive,” Bieber said, according to Variety. “There’s power in weakness,” he went on, and added that his album reflects that. "Thank you for loving me at my worst.”
In related news, the 25-year-old is the first artist billed to perform at the 2020 iHeartRadio Music Awards, airing Sunday, March 29.
