Lil Wayne is eager to show us that the hunger never stops as the Young Money rapper dropped his 13th studio album, Funeral on Friday. To promote and dive into details about the latest project, Wayne joined his good friend Skip Bayless in Miami on the set of FS1’s Undisputed.

The rapper opened up about making a subtle, but memorable change to his album last minute to honor basketball player, Kobe Bryant.

Four days before the album dropped, Bryant was tragically killed in a helicopter crash along with his daughter, Gianna. The world sadly mourned the loss with tributes coming in the forms of artistic paintings, televised speeches, social media captions, and more. Lil Wayne chose to honor the legend by inserting a 24-second moment of silence on his album (track number 8).

"That right there, I have to thank my big brother Mack. You know that was an idea he called me with right then and there. A day later, he called me with this idea he thought of and of course I confirmed it, I agreed with it."

He adds that the late addition to his completed album was not an issue considering everybody was sentimental to the gesture.

“Everybody who is involved with that type of thing, as far as timing and when to turn the album in ... everyone understands at that point. Everyone understands.”

Bayless, of coarse had to note that it seems like fate and the universe speaking to the fact that Wayne has 24-tracks on his album, Funeral, and delivers a 24-second moment of silence on track number eight.

His response was simply, “Numbers don’t lie.”
