Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson continues to make history even after the season has ended. Jackson is now just the second player in NFL history to win the MVP award with a unanimous vote.
In his first full season as an NFL starter, Jackson became the first player in league history to have over 3,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing in a single season. His 1,206 rushing yards set an NFL record for a quarterback. He also led the NFL with 36 touchdown passes as he led the Ravens to a 14-2 record.
The only other player to receive all 50 votes from members of the media was Tom Brady, back in 2010.
“He’s the guy who has six Super Bowls,” Jackson said. “I have to get my first one.”
He admitted that he has still has work to do, as he chases the ultimate prize, the Lombardi Trophy.
“I’m still young. I’ve got a lot of work to do. If you see me win a Super Bowl, you’ll probably see a lot more emotion.”
