Meek Mill's reaction to Kenneth Petty's recent arrest was actually a denial that he had any reaction at all.
Following news of his ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj's husband's arrest and indictment for not registering as a sex offender in California, the Shade Room shared an Instagram post that showed Meek allegedly liking a post about Kenneth's arrest. "Looks like #MeekMill peeped the news about #KennethPetty 👀," read TSR's caption.
While Meek may have "peeped the news," he later took to Twitter to set the record straight about his "liking" of the post. "You won’t never see me liking something about somebody catching a case I just wouldn’t say nothing! End of that," he wrote.
On Wednesday (March 4), TMZ reported that Kenneth had been arrested for failing to register as a sex offender.
According to the outlet, his arrest stemmed from a 2019 incident when he was pulled over in Beverly Hills. The traffic stopped occurred on November 15, four months after his move to Los Angeles. During the stop, officers determined that Kenneth was a registered sex offender in New York state, but had not registered in California, as required by the law.
At the time, he was arrested and released on a $20,000 bond. The L.A. County D.A. charged him for failing to register as a sex offender, TMZ reported.
As for his recent arrest, it appears that he may have still been unregistered in California, putting the feds on the case. Petty's lawyer told the outlet on Wednesday that he was going to post his $100,000 bond later that day. After his release, he will reportedly be under pretrial supervision and his travel will be restricted to Southern California.
