Justin Timberlake lightly addressed his infamous PDA scandal in a new interview.
Speaking with the Daily Mail for the Weekend Magazine, Timberlake spoke faintly on the scandal in which he became embroiled in December when he was photographed holding hands with his Palmer co-star, Alisha Wainwright. The singer, who has been married to Jessica Biel since 2012, opened up about moving on from the incident and what he’s learned since then.
“I don’t have any secret for growing up except to continue to try to do my best,” Timberlake expressed, with noted regret, the outlet indicates. “There’s always something to learn, and you have to realize that you have a footprint and you can’t go back and erase it. But you can improve the next path, and that’s all you can really do.”
The “footprint” Timberlake speaks of is without a shadow of a doubt the one the musician left in the wake of the highly-publicized scandal that prompted him to issue a public apology to Biel.
“I stay away from gossip as much as I can, but for my family, I feel it is important to address recent rumors that are hurting the people I love,” the “SexyBack” crooner wrote via Instagram at the time, taking accountability for the “strong lapse in judgment” that led the media to believe he’d been unfaithful to Biel with Wainwright, between whom he admits “nothing happened.”
“This is not the example I want to set for my son,” he continued, referring to he and Biel’s 4-year-old son, Silas. “I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that. I am incredibly proud to be working on Palmer. Looking forward to continuing to make this movie and excited for people to see it.”
