NJ Bakery Offers DIY Cookie & Cupcake Kits For At-Home Shutdown Activity

There's no denying the COVID-19 lockdown safety measures have taken a toll on small businesses. Despite the challenges, many small businesses have come up with creative ways to not only keep their stores afloat, but they're even finding new ways to give back to their customers and communities during these difficult times. One great example of this creative entrepreneurship is Sweet T's Bakeshop in Haddonfield, New Jersey latest menu item.

The Haddonfield bakery is now offering DIY cupcake and cookie decorating kids, according to ABC 6. "We're just trying to create something that can keep people busy and keep us afloat at the same time," Sweet T's co-owner Toni Moshen told the news outlet. The DIY kits have reportedly given the bakery a welcome boost in sales in recent days. "The phone has not stopped ringing all day. It's really great. It's amazing," Moshen added.

By the looks of customers' responses to the DIY kits on Sweet T's Facebook page, Moshen and her co-owner/sister Chrissy Dalton have really had a positive impact on their community. "Way to go ladies! You are amazing- keep doing what you’re doing!" one woman wrote. "Thank you for staying open, keep up the good work," another commented.

Sweet T's Bakeshop's do-it-yourself kits, which include multiple cookies, sprinkles and icing, cost $30 and are available for curbside pickup. Moshen and Dalton ask that you order the kits 24-48 hours in advance to give them time to prepare them. The bakery is open from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday with a limited menu.
