Rupert Grint is going to be a dad!
The actor, best known for portraying Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, and his longtime love, Georgia Groome, are expecting their first child together. The pair’s baby news broke via the 31-year-old’s representative, who told outlets, "Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are excited to announce they are expecting a baby and would please ask for privacy at this time."
According to E! News, the couple’s pregnancy news made headlines after the lovebirds were recently spotted on an outing in London together earlier this week. On Thursday, Groome had her baby bump on full display in pictures alongside Grint, sparking headlines that the duo is starting a family of their own.
For those unaware, Groome is an actress who made her star turn in 2008’s British teen rom-com, Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. The private pair, who have largely remained out of the spotlight, have been dating since 2011.
The couple’s pregnancy announcement comes after last year’s reports that the stars had wed in secret after Groome and Grint were spotted with matching gold bands. Those rumors, however, have not been confirmed.
In 2018, Grint opened up about wanting to have children of his own in the near future. "I'd like to settle down and have kids soon," he told The Guardian in 2018. "If I had a son, would I call him Ron? It's quite a good name, but probably not. And Grint's a tough name to pair a one-syllable first name with."
Congratulations, Rupert and Georgia!
