Global Citizen and the World Health Organization brought live music to our homes through our televisions and computers on Saturday evening (April 18). Dozens of celebrities and artists teamed up for One World: Together at Home on Saturday (April 18). The special event supports the WHO and frontline healthcare workers, as well as providing positivity and inspiration for those of us who must remain home in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19.
During One World: Together at Home, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder performed 'River Cross' on his home piano. The moving performance and inspirational lyrics are just what many of us needed to hear at this challenging moment in time. The lyrics of 'River Cross' encourage us all to "share the light" and remind us that, though everything feels difficult right now, this situation "won't hold us down" forever.
Ahead of the broadcast, Global Citizen citizen shared a tweet about Vedder's participation in One World: Together at Home. "Eddie Vedder is a dedicated Global Citizen who always steps up to tackle the world’s most pressing issues," the tweet reads.
