As the world faces the coronavirus pandemic, Lady Gaga is here to try and make people across the globe "smile" through this very difficult time.

During April 18th's "One World: Together at Home" special, Lady G took on double duty has she helped curate the performances throughout the show, and kicked it all off with a beautiful performance of Nat King Cole's iconic hit, "Smile."

Sitting at her piano in her home studio, Gaga said, "Today, I'm so happy that we are one world, together at home. I feel very honored to be a part of the World Health Organization and Global Citizen in the fight against COVID-19, and raising money for the Solidarity Response Fund. I care so much about all of the medical workers that are putting their lives at risk for us right now. I think of them every day, I pray for them every day, and I'm also thinking of all of you that are at home and wondering when this is all going to be different. What I'd like to do tonight if I can, is just give you the permission to, for a moment, [smile]."

Before "One World: Together at Home" aired, over $50 million was raised to help fight COVID-19 across the globe, providing much-needed support to healthcare professionals who are risking their lives every day to save others, and all of the frontline workers.

During a recent press conference live-streamed from her home in initially announcing the "Together at Home" special, Lady Gaga said, "We are all so very grateful to the healthcare professionals across the country and the world. This global pandemic is a catastrophe. I'm praying for them and also those who are sick." She added, "I would like to send my prayers to people who are losing their jobs and having a hard time feeding themselves and their children."
